The ramshorn snail is a magnificent, good-sized aquatic snail. We offer it with its pink shell.
This snail has been a classic in aquariums for decades, if not longer. Adults can reach a respectable size, sometimes measuring 2 to 3 cm in diameter. It is a snail whose shell forms a flattened disk, hence its name, and which is mostly active during the day. You can therefore easily admire it moving around on plants, glass, and decorations. It is a plant-friendly snail that generally does not attack plants. It mainly feeds on animal and plant waste, algae, and the bacterial biofilm covering every submerged surface. It takes many months to reach adult size, but it can reproduce as soon as it reaches approximately 5 mm. This species is hermaphroditic but needs to mate to reproduce. It then lays its eggs on a hard surface: a leaf, a pane of glass, or a stone. Ramshorn snails have no particular requirements, which is why they are found worldwide. Resistant to winter, they can be introduced into outdoor ponds. We offer ramshorn snails in three colors: - brown (wild color) - blue - pink These three varieties have the same requirements.
