How long does it take for the water to become clear again?
Depending on the algae density and volume, improvement is gradual: the daphnia work continuously until the water becomes clear again.
Can the daphnia survive with the fish?
They are protected inside the Zolla'Clear. Outside the device, the fish eat them (this is intended to complete the cycle at the end). If the fish are too vigorous and active, simply secure the Zolla'Clear with a basic clip (a clothespin, for example) to the glass. This prevents them from knocking it over!
Can the kit be reused?
Yes, it is reusable. Store it carefully after use, and simply get a refill to add more daphnia if it needs to be used again.
How is it different from a chemical algae treatment?
There is no toxicity, no microbial imbalance, and no need to change the water because a mass of algae was killed all at once. It is the biological approach. The algae are transformed into live daphnia, not dead waste that heavily pollutes the aquarium. No plants are harmed.
