(starter culture)

Easy and productive breeding, size suitable for all fish even the smallest, the Grindal worm are a delight for your fish and very convenient for you.

The Grindal worm are small white worms from the family of enchytraeids.
Unlike enchytraeids, Grindal worm are sized appropriately for all small fish, including fry a few weeks old.
In nature, these worms live in moist, decomposing compost, such as the banks of streams or forest ponds.
"They occasionally make it onto the fish menu when a bit of this soil falls into the water. Or when the rains raise the level up to the banks."
Fish love these worms, which are however not meant to become their main food. This should remain an occasional food.
Raising these worms is so simple that they are a very convenient supplementary food.
A simple plastic container of about 1 liter, with a few holes in the lid. A bit of damp sphagnum (available here) or wet acrylic wool to line the bottom, and you place your culture there (your worms are IN the dark wool strand). The worms will spread throughout the substrate. Place a small smooth plate (glass slide or flat pebble) on top and put a piece of soaked bread or biscuit on it. In a few hours, the worms should go there to feed.
When your breeding produces enough, you will be able to take the worms present on the slide or the pebble (with your finger or a brush) and give them to your fish.
We offer you a strain to start your breeding.

For more simplicity in this culture, we have designed the Zollabox Poisson S, a complete breeding kit that contains all the necessary equipment and a simple and clear step-by-step guide.
