It therefore has a significant purifying function. Furthermore, as it is submerged, it is very oxygenating for the environment, eliminating the carbon dioxide produced by the fish to produce the oxygen they need. "Its growth is so strong that it is often reputed to be the best competitor of algae, depriving them of food by absorbing dissolved minerals before they can." She is therefore, along with the daphnia, the guardian of clear, oxygenated, and clean waters. Its extremely dissected foliage forms an inextricable refuge where the smallest and youngest fish can hide. We recommend letting it float between two waters, at its leisure, without trying to plant it in the soil. This is its way of life in nature, and it only feeds in any case through its leaves in the water. The substrate therefore provides it with nothing. "During its introduction, it sometimes struggles for a while, and it is essential to give it time to acclimate to its new environment. It will thrive again as soon as it has adapted its metabolism."
