Three-lobed duckweed

Cousin of the common lentil, the three-lobed duckweed oxygenates the water, protects and nourishes the fry... and becomes much less invasive!

The three-lobed duckweed (Lemna trisulca) is very close to the small water lens.
But it has an absolutely essential asset: it floats slightly below the surface and is therefore completely submerged.
"It's a slight disadvantage for her, of course, as she captures a little less light this way and her growth is therefore not as exponential! She is therefore less invasive, but also less depolluting."
However, what may seem like a disadvantage is actually beneficial for the aquatic ecosystem, as the oxygen it releases is thus released into the water and not into the atmosphere.
It is therefore an excellent oxygenating plant, with reasonable growth. Easier to collect than common duckweed, it forms tangled mats that are very easy to grab in a single motion.
These mats, a maximum of a few centimeters thick, are particularly reassuring shelters for your fry, which are protected from the appetite of predators, starting with adult fish. Hidden in the midst of this mini-jungle, the fry thus swim in a micro-fauna ideal for their diet, made up of all the microorganisms that thrive among the leaves of this magical plant.
This lens has absolutely no specific requirements, neither in temperature, nor in lighting, nor in water quality.
