Phytoplankton, natural and living, is the basis of the diet of daphnia, but also of ostracods among others.
A 35 ml sachet of concentrated plankton allows for the reconstitution of several liters of live plankton.

It is often quite difficult to obtain green water on demand!

Indeed, the usual food for daphnia and ostracods is live phytoplankton. Of course, you can also use powdered spirulina or even a special food (if you have a Zollabox Poisson M). But live plankton often makes things easier when it is available.

The ideal is therefore to have live phytoplankton, consisting of millions of tiny microscopic algae suspended in the water. The daphnia feed on it, tirelessly filtering the water to consume these algae.

Aquazolla has developed a method for concentrating phytoplankton that allows you to recreate a living planktonic water at home in just a few seconds.
One single 35 ml sachet is enough to produce, once diluted, several liters of real plankton. This is perfectly sufficient to feed a small culture of daphnia, in a bucket for example. This phytoplankton is natural and alive. The ideal is therefore to expose the culture to sunlight so that these microscopic algae continue to develop.

The 35 ml pouch of concentrated live plankton (various species of freshwater), delivered without a syringe, to be simply poured into the water (tap water for example).
