Harmony Pack: optimal biodiversity for a balanced and colorful pond

A rich plant synergy for a flourishing ecosystem

Creating a pond is an exciting project, and the key to clear and healthy water lies in diversity. With our "Harmony" pack, we offer you a rich and generous intermediate option, ideal for medium-sized ponds or enthusiasts wishing to accelerate the establishment of their biodiversity. This assortment brings together eight carefully selected varieties that work in perfect synergy. The goal: to provide a more complex aesthetic while establishing strong competition against algae.

It is a strategic choice for a living water feature. By multiplying species, you bring beautiful color nuances and ensure much more stable and faster biological foundations to welcome wildlife.

Why choose the Harmony Pack?

  • 🌿 Optimal plant synergy: with 8 different varieties, your pond benefits from diversity that speeds up the natural cycle and balances the water much faster.
  • 🎹 Color festival: add a touch of originality with the superb red hues of phyllanthus and rotala, enhanced by the delicate flowers of lobelia.
  • 🐌 Cleaning team included: we add 6 bladder snails (useful small snails) for free to consume plant debris and actively help prevent algae.
  • 🐾 Maximized biodiversity: the variety of foliage and root systems offers a multitude of different hiding places, attracting and protecting even richer wildlife.
  • đŸ—ș Easy setup: you will find in the images of this sheet a small pond diagram to help you quickly visualize the ideal zone for each plant.
  • 💧 Natural anti-algae fight: the combined action of two oxygenating plants and two floating plants drastically competes with the development of green algae.

Planting and maintenance tips

  • Installation: take a look at our illustrated diagram (in the photos opposite) to easily locate the different planting zones of your water feature.
  • Submerged zone (oxygenators): you can plant the stems of hornwort and elodea in the substrate at the bottom, or simply let them live freely between two waters to purify the environment.
  • Surface (floating): place the fronds of salvinia and phyllanthus on the surface. Over time, they will create a reassuring and colorful shaded cover.
  • Bank and edge (ground cover and emergent): install lysimachia, rotala, water milfoil, and lobelia on the moist banks or shallow edges.
  • The snails (bladder snails): simply and gently place them in the water or on a floating plant upon arrival. They will acclimate themselves and immediately start their cleaning work.
  • Hardiness and overwintering: hornwort, elodea, lysimachia, water milfoil, lobelia, and bladder snails are very hardy and will vigorously regrow the following year. However, be careful with phyllanthus, salvinia, and rotala (if not submerged deeply enough) which fear frost: they should be brought indoors in winter or renewed in the spring.

⭐ Aquazolla tip: to fully enjoy the superb red hues of phyllanthus and rotala, give them a well-sunny exposure. The more light they receive, the more intense their colors will be!

Recommended uses for this pack

  • Medium-sized pond: the ideal plant volume to start a medium-sized project on very solid biological foundations.
  • Ecological acceleration: perfect for those who want to see their ecosystem balance faster thanks to the strength of species diversity.
  • Sought-after aesthetics: for nature lovers who want a rich, colorful, and varied visual result from the first year.

FAQ - Harmony pond pack

What is the main difference with the Essential pack?

By doubling the plant diversity (8 varieties instead of 4), this pack significantly accelerates the establishment of biological balance. The more diverse an ecosystem is, the more resistant it is to algae. Additionally, it brings beautiful touches of color with red foliage, new blooms, and a small team of cleaning snails offered.

Why do you offer snails (bladder snails) in this pack?

Bladder snails are valuable allies for biological balance. Completely harmless to your healthy plants, they spend their days consuming dead leaves, leftover food, and algal biofilm. They are the perfect complement to this pack for a self-sustaining ecosystem.

Is a specific substrate needed for these new plants?

No, these varieties remain very accommodating. Elodea and phyllanthus draw their nutrients directly from the water. For rotala and lobelia, the natural soil of your bank or simple pond gravel or sand will work very well.

How to manage these many varieties in winter?

Rest assured, the vast majority of this pack (including the snails) is very hardy and will survive harsh winters. Only phyllanthus, salvinia, and rotala (if the water freezes up to the roots) fear the cold: you can keep a few stems in a bright jar indoors or renew them the following year.

Is this pack suitable if I have fish?

Yes, absolutely. The density and diversity of oxygenating and floating plants in this pack offer excellent hiding places for fry and help consume nutrients generated by fish, thus maintaining healthier water.
