Introduction & usage advice
- Install the Zolla'Clear in the tank and introduce the supplied daphnia into it.
- If necessary (overly active fish, current, etc.), secure it to a support (glass, wire) with a clip.
- Let it work: the daphnia gradually filter the green water until it becomes clear again. They reproduce, the older ones die, and lay eggs for the next generation.
- The time required varies depending on the intensity of the green water, the volume, the number of daphnia, the temperature, the light, etc. It can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.
- Complete the cycle: once the water is clear again, collect daphnia to feed the fish.
- Reuse it: store the Zolla'Clear; if the problem recurs, get a ZollaBox Eau Claire refill (new daphnia) and start again.

How long does it take for the water to become clear again?
Depending on the algae density and volume, the improvement is gradual: the daphnia work continuously until the water becomes clear again.
Do the daphnia survive with the fish?
They are protected inside the Zolla'Clear. Outside the device, fish eat them (this is intended to complete the cycle at the end). If the fish are too vigorous and restless, simply secure the Zolla'Clear with a simple clip (a clothespin, for example), such as to the glass. This way, they cannot knock it over!
Can the kit be reused?
Yes: it is reusable. Store it carefully after use, and simply get a refill to add daphnia again if it needs to be used again.
How is it different from a chemical algaecide?
No toxicity, no microbial imbalance, and no need to change the water because a mass of algae has been killed all at once. This is the biological approach. The algae are transformed into live daphnia, not into dead waste that heavily pollutes the aquarium. No plants are harmed.
Does it also work in ponds?
Yes, the planktonic principle applies in aquariums as well as ponds. In this case, as with very large aquariums, choose the ZollaBox Eau Claire XL, which is better suited to large volumes.
