Iconic plant of the banks, its roots are a refuge underwater and its leaves emerge in a spectacular bouquet.
His name is Iris pseudoacorus. "It's a great classic of our riverbanks." It pushes its feet into the water, or into damp soil. Perfect therefore for a poubellarium, a border, or the center of a pond... and even in a natural or low-tech aquarium, allowing it to develop its spectacular roots in the water and let its leaves emerge from the open aquarium!
Its spring bloom is yellow. It is about the strictly natural, wild form, and therefore extremely rustic. "Frost does not scare it, and summer droughts are tolerated as long as they remain temporary. Its powerful roots form a precious, inextricable tangle for various critters and your fry. In a well-exposed aquarium, its white root tuft is magnificent." This plant manages on its own. It can be left floating in a tub or planted in a pot or at the bottom of the pond. As long as its leaves manage to emerge, it is happy. Their seeds are very capricious and can take years to germinate. Our plants are precisely grown from seeds and not from cuttings: each seedling is therefore genetically different, which gives the plantations great resilience against natural hazards. And above all, the seedlings (unlike rhizome cuttings) are of a size compatible with aquariums and poubellariums, at least in the first few years... They are therefore of an age to settle wherever you decide, to last for many long years.
