Adult daphnia are a favorite treat for medium-sized fish (between 3 and 10 cm), ranging from guppies to young goldfish. Bettas love to hunt them, and they contain everything a fish needs to live and grow.
This makes daphnia the ideal natural food for aquariums or ponds.
Raising daphnia is less difficult than you might think, provided you can dedicate a container of at least 10 liters (a simple bucket, for example).
But often people struggle, not knowing how to obtain a starter culture, feed them, handle them, sort them, or harvest them.
