(set of 3 plants, medium-sized strain)

Perfectly suited for natural aquarium keeping (or low-tech), this original strain reaches 10 to 15 cm in height. Multiplying very quickly, it is ideal for establishing a protective and reassuring ground cover.

Sagittaria subulata is generally intended for the front part of the aquarium, or to represent an "aquatic meadow." This special strain is a bit larger, readily reaching 10 to 15 cm, which is an interesting and uncommon size for many aquariums.

Like all sagittarias (and the Vallisneria), its leaves are shaped like "ribbons" all starting from the heart of the base.

Its soft green enhances the impression of brightness in the spaces it occupies, contrasting with the dark green, reddish, or brownish hues of other larger plants.

A trouble-free plant, it does not have real demands regarding water qualities (hardness or pH) and grows very well in simple sand. It fully benefits from the effect of the malaysian Trumpet Snail, whose action on the soil it greatly appreciates.

Like all ground cover plants, it is sensitive to lighting and, the deeper the water, the more intensity is needed. Indeed, it often grows in nature in shallow waters, where light is little absorbed by the water depth.
It thus forms a beautiful "aquatic lawn" within a few months if conditions suit it.

After a few weeks of adaptation, and if it thrives, it will begin to send out runners in all directions, each runner giving birth to new plants, and so on. Much like strawberry plants! It will readily colonize the surface of the soil and you will only need to limit its growth by pulling out seedlings growing where you do not want them, to replant them elsewhere.

These plants serve as effective hiding places for shy small fish or fry, for shrimps or water lice who enjoy shelter in this small dense jungle close to the ground... This slightly larger strain allows creating this dense refuge, thick enough for small fish to feel safe, but never reaching the surface, leaving the decoration free above.

Regarding temperature, it needs a minimum of about 14°C, with a maximum of 26 to 28°C. It can therefore only overwinter outdoors in warm regions and is absolutely not invasive in our latitudes.

Another, smaller strain is also available.

Our plants are guaranteed free of rock wool or any artificial substrate, ready to produce roots adapted to their new environment.

Although they are not classified as invasive plants, I ask you not to spread these plants in the wild.
